IT Operations Manager

HR Nerd
Portland, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 10/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/21/2026

Our client, a remote-first post-production company specializing in commercials and branded content, is seeking a Technology & Operations Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the operational processes and technical infrastructure that support the organization and its creative teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of operations and IT expertise, along with an understanding of the post-production environment and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.

This role is well suited for someone who is comfortable challenging the status quo, advocating for thoughtful change, and finding ways to make processes and technology more efficient and effective. Rather than accepting “this is how it’s always been done,” you’ll bring a fresh perspective and a continuous-improvement mindset to help strengthen workflows, systems, and the overall post-production operation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Process Management: Design, document, and maintain operational processes across the studio; identify inefficiencies and drive standardization.
  • IT Strategy: Set the direction for the company's technical infrastructure, tools, and systems in alignment with business priorities.
  • Identify and Evaluate New Technologies: Research, pilot, and recommend new tools and platforms to improve workflows.
  • Translate and Integrate Directive to Tactical Implementation: Convert leadership direction into operational and technical execution plans.
  • Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA): Provide oversight and hold self and others accountable to operational standards.
  • Develop and Maintain Technical Infrastructure: Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the company's network and technical systems.
  • Oversee IT Security and Protocol: Establish, document, and enforce security protocols; manage user access and permissions.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Serve as the primary point of resolution for hardware, software, and network issues.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Proven experience in operations management and/or IT management within a production or creative services environment.
  • Working fluency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Airtable.
  • Strong network administration and IT troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Experience implementing IT security protocols, including access control and safeguarding of assets.
  • Ability to translate leadership direction into operational systems and processes.
  • Experience managing direct reports or readiness to grow into a people-management capacity.
  • Based in Portland, OR, and available for hybrid in-office work.
  • Experience supporting or administering post-production pipelines, is preferred
  • Experience working across two related but distinct brands or business units would be helpful in this role.
  • Familiarity with remote/hybrid team operations.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Establish a clear and consistent archiving process.
  • Monitor and manage project lifecycles effectively.
  • Become the organization’s Airtable subject-matter expert.
  • Implement a standardized onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, and operational efficiency.

WHAT WE BRING

  • Remote-First Work Environment: Work with a talented team in a flexible, remote-first setting.
  • Creative & Collaborative Culture: Join a team that values thoughtful collaboration, open communication, and shared success.
  • Trust & Accountability: Work in an environment built on mutual respect, trust, and accountability.
  • Meaningful Work: Contribute to high-quality commercial and branded content with a team passionate about storytelling and creative excellence.
  • Talented Team: Collaborate with experienced professionals who are experts in their craft, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional work.

Physical Demands: This position is primarily performed in an office or remote office environment and involves typical sedentary work, including sitting, standing, walking, computer use, and other routine office activities. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
