Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and home health environments. The Registered Nurse will utilize advanced nursing techniques and EMR/EHR systems to ensure accurate documentation and optimal patient outcomes. Experience with specialized procedures such as IV infusion, suturing, catheterization, and infection control is highly valued. Candidates with expertise in medical imaging, trauma medicine, hospice & palliative care, or working with vulnerable populations like those with developmental disabilities or memory care needs are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications and injections following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques.
- Manage airway care, ventilator support, tube feeding, and IV infusions with precision.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, specimen collection/processing, sonography, and radiologic procedures like mammography or spinal taps.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Provide specialized care including wound suturing, ostomy care, dialysis management, and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care coordination.
- Support patients across various settings including ICU (Level II & I Trauma Centers), emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, nursing homes (including dementia and Alzheimer's care), pediatric units (including NICU/PICU), and home & community health environments.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, pain management, medication administration, and chronic disease management.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare standards including HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in critical care (ICU), emergency medicine (ER), hospital medicine or outpatient settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks.
- Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy/venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and specimen collection/processing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology (cardiac catheterization), trauma medicine (Level I & II trauma centers), infectious disease care (including COVID-19 protocols), geriatrics (memory/dementia/Alzheimer’s care), pediatrics (neonatal ventilators), hospice & palliative medicine.
- Ability to perform complex assessments for acute pain management and triage situations.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or those requiring long-term or sub-acute care.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment. Pay: $45.90 - $55.28 per hour
