The Vice President of Operations (VP of Ops) is responsible for leading and scaling HPM’s multi-site operations, ensuring alignment with company strategy, financial goals, and quality standards. This role translates CEO vision into disciplined execution at the site level, building systems and coaching leaders to deliver operational excellence. The VP of Ops oversees all operations teams.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Revenue Generation
- Achieve established revenue, contribution margin, and EBITDA goals across all sites.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to link operational decisions with financial outcomes.
- Partner with leadership to identify and drive growth opportunities, including new markets and service line expansion.
Operations Management
- Translate CEO strategy into executable systems, processes, and playbooks.
- Oversee daily operations across multiple sites, ensuring accountability to KPIs.
- Provide hands-on leadership through frequent site visits, problem-solving in real time.
- Lead new site launches and ensure ramp-up productivity within 90 days.
- Ensure high standards of quality, compliance, and patient safety are consistently met.
People & Leadership
- Coach and develop Regional Managers and site leaders, raising performance across the organization.
- Build leadership bench strength by developing promotable leaders.
- Foster a results-driven culture of accountability and tactical empathy.
- Serve as a charismatic influencer who gains buy-in from providers, facility partners, and staff.
Patient & Customer Experience
- Achieve Net Promoter Score (NPS) targets (≥80) across patient and facility partners.
- Reduce scheduling wait times and cancellation rates.
- Ensure ≥95% adherence on safety and compliance audits.
Organizational Development
- Build systems and dashboards to measure and manage performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through operational discipline and execution rigor.
- Model HPM’s mission and values, serving as an ambassador to communities and facilities.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
The following are required of the VP of Operations:
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and EBITDA targets.
- Achieve system-wide patient throughput and procedure conversion benchmarks.
- Launch new sites on-time and on-plan.
- Maintain turnover ≤10% in key roles (RMs, APPs, CRNAs).
- Ensure ≥90% of new hires achieve productivity within 90 days.
Maintain ≥95% block utilization and operational discipline metrics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in multi-site operations leadership, with 2–5 years at VP or equivalent.
- Direct supervision of providers and managers.
- Proven track record of scaling operations, driving KPIs, and managing budgets.
- Demonstrated success developing leaders who advanced into higher roles.
- Experience in healthcare or a regulated service industry; exposure to rural healthcare preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field – required.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field – preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis).
- Systems builder with ability to create repeatable processes and dashboards.
- Proficiency in EMR, practice management systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication skills, inspiring and aligning teams with clarity.
- High execution discipline and accountability.
Other Requirements
- Ability to travel 75% ; overnight travel required.
