What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Helper position at Hoya Vision Care?
The Maintenance Helper will be responsible for various duties in support of the maintenance team. These duties will be inclusive of facilities maintenance and introductory preventative maintenance of equipment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensures proper operation of equipment by performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
2. Monitors and completes all required maintenance tasks within a specified timeframe.
3. Safe operation of a fork truck and scissor lift.
4. Communicates with lead or supervisor for task priority and completion.
5. Ability to effectively use CMMS and email communications.
6. Maintains control and traceability related to tooling inside shop and outside vendors.
7. Actively participates in building a collaborative and productive team environment.
8. Supports the operational environment by maintaining an OSHA safety standard.
Expected Knowledge and competencies
Daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance on the bazel clean system, auto tapers, autoblockers, generators, polishers, deblockers, detapers, conveyor belts, general building maintenance repairs.
Performs basic PM task and routine maintenance task to keep machines clean and in good daily working order.

Some computer knowledge
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 12 hours per day per scheduled shift)
Must be able to read and understand technical data for the position
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a team player
