ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
1. Take lens out of tray and clean with Alcohol or soap as required
2. Use clamps to put lenses in various color dyes to achieve desired results
3. Run water over lens after removing from dye
4. Prepares dyes and tint tanks
5. Rejects bad tinted lenses
6. Help routing work in the AR-Preparation room
Secondary Duties
1. Maintain the machine clean inside and out
2. Assists Back Side Coat Operator
3. Back Side Coat lenses when needed
4. Help in other areas when needed
5. Help to maintain trays clean and in good condition
6. Cross trains on tasks from other areas of the lab
7. Take inventory of tint supplies
8. Maintain workstation and work areas clean and organized
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Experience in the Optical Industry as it relates to ophthalmic lenses is desired
- Able and willing to work as a team
- Basic Math
- Must be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when needed
- Able to read and write English Language well
- Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately
- Computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
- Experience or knowledge working with automated equipment
- Problem solving skills
- Work without constant supervision
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to use hands to grasp and manipulate. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crawl and/or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program
- Closed toe shoes required with heel support
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
- Must wear safety glasses and gloves
