What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Associate, Strategic Finance, FP&A position at Hoxton Circle?
Senior Associate, FP&A | Investment Firm | Stamford, CT, three days a week on site
If you come from private equity or investment banking, this could be the perfect next move.
We're recruiting for a longtime client of Hoxton Circle, a multi-strategy investment firm that builds and scales businesses across oil and gas, industrials, technology, healthcare, AI, and data computing. We've placed close to ten people with this firm over the years, and people have stayed and feel really good there.
They're looking for a Senior Associate to join their FP&A team, sitting above the portfolio and reporting to the Director of FP&A. This is a backfill, not a newly created role, so the scope is proven and the team is established.
This role is built for someone with the instincts PE and banking give you: speed, ownership, and comfort being handed ambiguity and running with it.
What you'll own:
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and 3-statement financial models for a defined set of entities
Strategic Planning & Business Partnering
- Scenario and sensitivity modeling for the firm's 3-year strategic plan, plus ad hoc business cases presented directly to senior leadership
Technology, AI & Process Innovation
- Planning and reporting inside the team's CPM platform (OneStream or similar), with AI and automation used to speed up and improve the work
Accounting Collaboration & Quality
- Month-end close support, GL integrity, and GAAP compliance across all reporting and analytical outputs
Impact
- Real ownership end to end, from raw data to a story senior leadership can act on
What they need from you:
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in PE or investment banking, ideally with exposure to complex, multi-entity, or multinational structures
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with the ability to build a 3-statement model independently and defend every line of it
- Genuine interest in using AI and automation to change how a finance team works, not just talk about it
- Comfort presenting to senior leadership and holding your own in the room
- Bonus points if you've lived through a system implementation or finance transformation and have real scars and stories to show for it
Why this one's worth a serious look:
There's a real promotion path here. Comp is strong, autonomy is real, and you'll get exposure across a genuinely diverse portfolio of industries rather than staring at one P&L for years.
Based in Stamford, CT, three days a week on site.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
