A large international Asia-based organization with its U.S. headquarters in New York, is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager to lead the payroll operations across a fast-growing, multi-state workforce. This individual will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and reporting for 1,000 U.S. employees while partnering closely with global teams. This role requires full professional fluency in Mandarin or CantoneseResponsibilities:Lead end-to-end U.S. payroll processing for a 1,000 employee population across multiple states, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.Manage and mentor a payroll team; establish best practices, streamline processes, and drive operational improvements.Serve as the primary liaison between U.S. payroll and Asia-based corporate teams; communicate effectively in Mandarin or Cantonese to support cross-border coordination.Oversee tax filings, garnishments, deductions, benefits integrations, year-end processing (W-2s), and regulatory reporting.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as alignment with internal controls and audit requirements.Partner with HR, Finance, and Legal on employee compensation changes, accounting close, audits, and system enhancements.Maintain payroll system data integrity and support implementation and optimization of payroll and timekeeping systems.Analyze payroll data, prepare reports for leadership, and support strategic initiatives related to workforce planning and compensation.Qualifications:5 years of U.S. payroll experience with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.Experience overseeing payroll for large, multi-state organizations (1,000 employees strongly preferred).Full fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is required.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, payroll taxation, and compliance requirements.Prior experience working with international or Asia-based companies is highly preferred.Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar).Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with global stakeholders.High attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and commitment to process excellence.CPP certification is a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
