We're partnering exclusively with a large, well-established enterprise to find an experienced Employee Relations Manager for their growing HR function. Our client is a respected name in their industry, known for operational excellence and a genuine commitment to their people.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role — you'll be the go-to expert on all things employee relations, working closely with senior leadership to shape policy, resolve complex matters, and protect a culture people are proud to be part of.
The role
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on federal, state, and local employment laws — ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and guiding all employee and labor relations activities including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and union-related matters.
- Lead end-to-end workplace investigations, delivering thorough documentation, clear recommendations, and consistent follow-through on outcomes.
- Supervise and develop a small ER team while overseeing personnel administration processes.
- Design and implement employee relations strategies and policies that foster a positive, legally sound work environment.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to review and update policies and operating procedures in line with corporate goals.
- Mediate disputes between employees and management, providing coaching and guidance throughout.
- Maintain thorough, confidential records across all employee relations activity.
- Monitor changes in employment law and industry best practices, keeping the organization ahead of the curve.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years progressive experience
- Solid, hands-on knowledge of employment law and HR best practices across federal, state, and local levels.
- A proven track record of conducting workplace investigations and navigating complex employee relations matters.
- Experience working within or alongside large, matrixed organizations.
- Strong communicator — someone who builds trust quickly and handles difficult conversations with professionalism and care.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities without dropping the detail.
- Unimpeachable discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
