, to hire an
Assistant Controller (Director of Accounting)
, who will be part of the Senior Leadership Team. You'll report directly to the
Global Controller
and work closely with the
CFO
and other members of the c-suite (great exposure).
With approximately
1,500 employees
globally and
~$750m
in annual revenue, the company is in an active phase of transformation - they are focused on adopting new processes to scale and supporting strategic growth initiatives, as the they head towards a billion in annual revenue.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to transition out of public accounting, or who has already made the transition in-house.
This role needs someone who is innovative, knows what best-in-class scaled processes look like, and who loves automation and building.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle general ledger accounting, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls
- Review and approve account reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure appropriate resolution of reconciling items
- Perform and review monthly and quarterly flux analysis; partner with FP&A and business leaders to explain key drivers
- Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with US GAAP
- Manage and develop members of the accounting team, including offshore or geographically dispersed resources
- Serve as the primary accounting lead for acquisition activity, including:
- Coordinating with third-party valuation and transaction advisory firms
- Managing timelines, deliverables, and data requests
- Reviewing purchase accounting outputs and ensuring proper integration into the GL
- Partner closely with Tax, FP&A, Treasury, and business unit finance leaders to support accurate reporting and operational decision-making
- Support external audit activities, including preparation of schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
Ideal Background & Experience
- Public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm) followed by transition into an in-house accounting role
- Can also be someone currently in public accounting and ready to move into industry
- Or someone from in-house accounting with experience at large, complex organizations (public companies or similarly scaled private companies)
- CPA highly preferred
- 5-9 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience working in complex operating environments (multi-entity, international, or operationally intensive businesses)
- Industry experience preferred in manufacturing, consumer products, business services, industrials, or similar sectors
- Backgrounds in financial services (banking, asset management, insurance, etc.) are not a fit for this role
Compensation & Schedule:
- $160-$170k base salary competitive cash bonus full stack benefits 401k matching
