Position Summary
The Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Controller and CFO to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen internal controls, and support the company's continued growth. This individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and integrating newly acquired businesses while helping build scalable accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Support consolidation of multiple business entities across several states.
- Help develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve financial reporting and business performance.
- Support external audits, tax compliance, and lender reporting.
- Participate in acquisition integration efforts and process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop members of the accounting team.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting as needed.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across accounting functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with a private equity-backed company is a significant plus.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.
- ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
