Mechanical Draftsman
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Project Engineering Manager, the draftsman performs a variety of engineering drawings related to all aspects of product development.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Prepare routine working sketches and layouts.
- Reverse engineering of components.
- Drawing/model conversion from 2D to 3D.
- Perform multiple drafting assignments requiring the application of design drafting principles, theories, standards, concepts, and techniques.
- Understands and uses labeling, dimensioning, and callout standards.
- Create section cuts/drawings from the designer’s input.
- Work with and assist higher-level engineers and designers on a direct project-by-project basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Must be a team player, possessing the ability to collaborate with others and manage one’s own reactivity during times of stress, change, or intense deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2-5 years of AutoCAD. Must possess excellent 3D modeling skills and excellent 2D CAD drawing skills using AutoCAD. Must be experienced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Education: Minimum Associate's Degree in a Related Field. Trained knowledge of AutoCAD. Basic math knowledge (scale conversions, geometry, basic trig). Understand the inter-relationship of drawings. Understand the makeup of a typical drawing package.
- Complexity of duties: Attention to detail and technical abilities.
- Supervision received: Direct oversight from the Project Engineering Manager.
- Working conditions: Mostly indoors; some exposure to extreme noise, heat, cold, and dusty environments. *This is an on-site job*
