What is the role?
The Billing & Invoicing Manager is responsible for overseeing billing activities within the US Regional Business Service Center. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in the preparation and delivery of client and carrier invoices, while supervising the work of Billing & Invoicing Analysts. The Manager provides guidance on complex cases and partners with account management, accounting, and leadership teams to maintain strong financial controls and drive process improvements.
What will you be doing?
Invoice Management
· Oversee the preparation, review, and timely delivery of client and carrier invoices.
· Ensure alignment of billing allocations based on client and carrier instructions.
· Provide support for high-value, complex, or exception billing scenarios.
· Supervise processing of fee agreements and managing of internal fee allocations in alignment with client and carrier requirements.
· Review calculation of surplus lines tax obligations for accuracy and alignment with state regulations.
Financial Coordination & Compliance
· Supervise coordination with accounting to confirm carrier payment terms and ensure smooth payment processing.
· Monitor SOX compliance documentation to ensure adherence to billing and audit requirements.
· Serve as an escalation point for complex accounting discrepancies related to billing and payments.
Premium Finance & Audit Support
· Oversee preparation of premium finance quotes for viable accounts.
· Review carrier audits for accuracy and partner on corrective actions as needed.
Team Leadership & Oversight
· Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role, overseeing 7–10 direct reports
· Provide coaching, feedback and support to Billing Analysts
· Assign workloads, monitor productivity and ensure adherence to standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
· Organizational Skills: Skilled in managing multiple billing cycles, deadlines, and escalations.
· Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of billing practices, allocations, and premium financing processes.
· Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with account teams, accounting, and carriers.
· Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of SOX compliance standards and audit requirements.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and billing/insurance systems (e.g. Epic, AMS360, or similar)
· Problem-Solving: Skilled at investigating discrepancies and identifying corrective actions.
· Leadership: Ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior employees.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
· 4-6 years of billing, accounting, or insurance operations experience.
· Strong knowledge of insurance billing practices, fee agreements, and premium financing preferred.
· Strong knowledge of SOX controls or financial compliance processes.
· Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
