What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Assistant position at HOWARD ORLOFF IMPORTS INC?
We are looking for someone who thrives in a role that changes from day to day, someone who doesn't want to be bored!
As the Shipping and Receiving Assistant/Parts Driver, you will be responsible for stocking received items and filling customer orders to be shipped. Additionally, you will verify inventory and visually inspect all shipments and deliveries made to the dealership, plus you will be in charge delivering parts orders throughout the city.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Obtain and process technicians and customer parts orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them within the dealership
- Maintain the Dealership stockroom by organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis
- Schedule shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items
- Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers
- Resolve shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and communicate with Managers in order to resolve those issues or complaints
- Assist with maintaining accurate information on bills of lading
- Load/unload parts delivery vehicle
- Safely drive throughout the city of Chicago to delivery parts
Skills and Qualifications
- This is a Tuesday through Saturday position - tentative schedule is Tuesday-Friday 8am-5:30pm, Saturday 8:30am-2:30pm
- Strong communication skills & integrity
- Excellent organization and administrative skills
- Clean driving record and
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
- Proven experience navigating various computer systems
- CDK and dealership experience a plus
