The Howard J. Moore Company Inc. is currently looking to hire a Production Specialist at our Plainview NY facility. Our factory specializes in producing custom and precision plastic, fiberglass and rubber components for aerospace, defense, and electronics manufacturers.
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated person to join our team. As a Production Specialist you will play a crucial role in multiple manufacturing processes. As part of this position you will be expected to work with various types of CNC and manual machinery, inspection equipment, blueprints and CAD software. Other responsibilites will include assisting with light assembly work, and material handling.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the cutting and fabrication of products according to blueprints & specifications
-Operate Mills, Lathes, Bridgeports, Table Saws, Laser Cutters and CNC equipment
- Operate power tools and hand tools to complete assembly tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet standards
- Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
Requirements:
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
· Proficiency with basic math and geometry.
· Familiarity with how to read blueprints
· Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred
· Mechanical knowledge and the ability to use power tools and hand tools effectively
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Training will be providing on multiple machines, software and procedures. This is a good opportunity for someone interested in a manufacturing career. Starting pay will be based on prior experience and anticipated training needs. We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 40 hrs per week. Overtime available. We offer over 3 weeks of paid vacation, as well as a retirement account with matching.
