The Engineer II is responsible for the implementation of the entire project cycle and provides engineering support for operating assets.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implements the full project lifecycle for moderately sized and complex projects, encompassing design, development, procurement, construction, and completion.
  • Communicates with internal teams and contractors to support and execute project implementation.
  • Prepares technical construction specifications for individual projects.
  • In a facility planning role, prepares and presents pipeline simulation results for new and expansion projects.
  • Reviews project plans and details for code compliance, proper company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
  • Provides engineering and technical support for terminal operations, including rail, truck, and marine activities, as well as liquid bulk storage and transfer systems.
  • Evaluates project bids and makes material selections.
  • Effectively manages budgets, timelines, and problem resolution related to multiple projects.
  • Provides engineering and troubleshooting support for operating assets.
  • Manages and executes small to medium projects.
  • Participates in PSM activities such as PHA/LOPAs, PSSRs, and MOC processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in engineering principles and practices relevant to the energy sector.
  • Experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong technical skills in areas such as design, construction, and operation of energy infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical problems related to energy systems and equipment.
  • Experience with engineering software and tools used in the energy industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on achieving project goals and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage project documentation and requirements effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in engineering practices.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
  • Previous natural gas industry experience required
  • Previous terminal, midstream or bulk liquid facilities related experience preferred (railcar loading/unloading systems, truck racks, marine loading/offloading systems (barge and ship), liquid storage
  • 3 years of engineering project management experience
  • Experience with engineering analysis including specialty software

 

Certifications:

  • None required 

 

Physical Demands and Hazard for Field Employees:

This position may require occasional travel to remote sites, potential exposure to flammable material, adherence to safety protocols, compliance with operating regulations, and will require rigorous physical demands.
