Acute Residential Counselor Adult - Crisis Stabilization:
Maintain a stable environment for adults with mental health and/or substance use challenges. This position works at a hospital diversion program that supports adults having a mental health crisis. This is a unique opportunity to gain a broad level of experience in the fields of substance use and mental health.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive counseling, medication management, and crisis intervention
- Help residents strengthen coping and symptom management skills
- Maintain the overall functioning and cleanliness of the programs
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals
- Provide short-term case management and referrals to appropriate levels of care
- Facilitate groups
- Administer medication
Requirements:
- One year of experience in the field of substance use or a combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired
- Ability to deal effectively with crisis situations
- Ability to multi-task and engage with clients
- Computer literacy
- Excellent written, listening, and communication skills
- Valid driver's License, and use of a personal vehicle
Structure:
- Full time
- AFSCME Union (dues will apply)
- Starting at $22.52/ hour
