What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant - Accounts Receivable position at Howard Center?
Support billing and collections functions and maintains accurate accounting systems, with a strong emphasis in contracts and grants accounting. In this role you will utilize both automated and manual accounting techniques in accordance with GAAP to process financial data and complete reports and other documentation, ensuring confidentiality is maintained. This position offers a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Create invoices for contracts, grants and miscellaneous services provided, in accordance with contract terms
- Maintain accounting records and documentation of customer account status
- Code and enter data into financial accounting system
- Complete monthly journal entries
- Maintain accounts receivable aging
- Reconcile accounts receivable and balance sheet accounts
- Supports the monthly close process and Agency’s audit functions
- Follow-up on past due balances. Process cash receipts, apply payments accurately and timely to accounting software ledger and subledger systems
- Balance and maintain accurate ledgers
- Prepare related correspondence, reports, and statements
Requirements:
- One year of general accounting experience with strong emphasis in accounts receivable and billing preferred
- Experience working with accounting software and MS Office tools
Structure:
- Full time, 37.5 hrs
- Non-Exempt
- Starting at $24.93
