SUMMARY
HJI Supply Chain Solutions’ Manager, Process & Materials is responsible for maintaining the highest inventory accuracy within multiple material support centers. This entails (1) ensuring that operational procedures (receiving, shipping, cycle counting, etc.) are executed as designed to fulfill the highest levels of inventory accuracy at the location level; (2) managing processes which fall outside traditional shipping and receiving operation, (e.g., vendor returns, nonconforming material, product transfers, etc.) which directly impact the physical inventory; (3) performing audits to reduce vendor paybacks and promote department accuracy.
This position will support efficient systems that integrate team members, materials and information to provide best in class service. JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Recognize signs of operational problems (e.g., wrong product in slots, high shrink, receiving errors) and provide detailed action steps required of management to correct them.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
- Reports to General Manager, customer, etc. the inventory accuracy percentage per requirement.
- Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
- Ensure supervisors trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure the cycle count program is executed as designed, is consistent and accurate. This includes weekly accurate cycle counts of all product lines and special counts for critical parts.
- Success in this area is achieved when these counts and the corresponding system entries are performed thoroughly and accurately, and provide benefit to the overall operation.
- Ensure product rotation standards are maintained (FIFO).
- Oversee the release of dispositioned nonconforming product to vendors, including inventory accuracy, correct paperwork, and proper process.
- Effectively manage, develop and motivate supervisors (direct) and inventory reps (indirect).
- Control inventory to optimize working capital and product availability for the entire business.
- Prepare monthly progress reports updates and opportunity analysis for management review.
- Develop production inventory strategies as derivatives of the corporate and sales strategies including detailed KPI reports.
- Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphere; ensure personal and professional development of direct reports
- Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Demonstrate responsibility for scheduling and effective utilization of resources, maximizing results.
- Implement improvements and monitors the strategic operation and inventory systems for continuous efficiency.
- Sponsor root-cause reduction projects, identify opportunities for process improvements, and manage implementation.
- Participate in and be a key player in operational planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
- 3-5 years' experience or equivalent education and projects

- Strong business acumen particularly in order fulfillment and/or distribution.
- Experience in positions requiring self-initiative and dependability.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to all employees at all levels effectively.
COMPUTER RELATED SKILLS
Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft applications, Outlook, correspondence and a high level of comfort with Technology including managing and troubleshooting WMS systems. Ability to design layouts using Auto Cad or similar software . Ability to design simulation models using Simio or similar software
