Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly at the front desk, manage multi-line phone systems, and schedule appointments efficiently using electronic scheduling systems.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes to ensure accurate billing and claims processing.
- Manage medical billing and collections by submitting claims, following up on unpaid accounts, and ensuring timely payments through platforms like eClinicalWorks.
- Maintain and update patient records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medical coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to support accurate billing and care documentation.
- Credentialing for providers at Hospitals and Insurances.
- Support clinic operations by managing medical supplies inventory, filing medical records securely, and coordinating with healthcare providers on care plans and patient follow-up.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette, perform data entry with high accuracy including 10-key typing, and utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication.
Skills
- EExtensive experience with EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines.
- Proven ability in insurance verification, and health information management.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing procedures.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior clinic experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), multi-line phone systems, and office management software.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and strong communication abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
