What will I be doing?
ü Package, process, and service loans in the H-GALDC portfolio.
ü Conduct basic underwriting and credit risk analysis for individual loans and the loan portfolio.
ü Identify, request, and monitor all required documents from lenders and business owners, ensuring compliance with regulatory policies, internal procedures, and loan terms.
ü Examine loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and validity from origination through closing.
ü Assign credit risk scores using sound underwriting principles.
ü Document and track new loans, extensions, modifications, and liquidations through each required stage, maintaining both electronic records and hard copy files.
ü Process collateral filings and extensions, resolve rejected payments, calculate prepayment penalties, and prepare loan release paperwork.
ü Provide administrative and reporting support including tracking and performance reporting.
ü Communicate with borrowers, lending institutions, vendors, consultants, and internal team members, ensuring excellent customer service and accurate account management.
ü Respond to inquiries about loan balances, payments, insurance requirements, and process updates.
ü Provide staff support for Board and loan committee meetings, including preparing materials, correspondence, agendas, minutes, and overseeing corporate nominations.
Key Qualifications
ü Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field of study.
ü Three (3) years of experience in commercial lending, servicing, and/or loan processing.
ü Knowledge of underwriting principles, loan process management, and experience with loans at risk.
ü Ability to read and interpret financial documents such as credit reports, tax returns, balance sheets, and bank statements.
ü Proficient in Microsoft Office and loan tracking/servicing systems.
ü Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with small business and commercial clients.
ü Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple loan applications and servicing tasks simultaneously.
Do you have…
ü Bachelor’s degree with an internship in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
ü Less than 1 year of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Preferred Qualifications
ü Five (5) years of experience in servicing and/or processing loans.
ü Familiarity with SBA lending policies and evaluating credit reports and appraisals.
ü Expertise in specific loan products, such as commercial real estate loans, SBA loans, or equipment financing.
ü Industry Experience: Experience working in a financial institution, credit union, or similar environment, with a focus on small business and commercial clients.
