We are looking for individuals eager to make a difference and willing to enthusiastically commit to join in our vision that homelessness in Santa Cruz County should be rare, brief, and non-recurring.Working under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and Lead Custodian, the Float Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of Housing Matters' multiple buildings and grounds located at the Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) site and the Live Oak Landing (the “Landing") site. Requires frequent lifting, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting objects, and operating equipment. Requires the ability to lift 60 lbs. Be in possession of a current/valid driver's license and a clean driving record Thorough knowledge of:Standard cleaning and safety proceduresMethods, materials, and techniques used for custodial workOperating and caring for custodial supplies and equipment Safety and PPE standardsTypical Job Duties:Perform specific cleaning and custodial tasks in the general upkeep, sanitation, and cleanliness of the facility.Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies, using appropriate processes and germicides for cleaning equipment. Assist Facilities Manager and Maintenance Technician with room turnover and pallet shelter turnover Clean bathrooms, offices, and rooms/pallets as needed Clean windows, sweep and mop floorspick up trash on Housing Matters grounds and surrounding areas Operate compactor/ take out trashOperate carpet cleaning machineOperate power washing machinePerform light maintenance repairs as directed by Facilities ManagerMaintain adequate cleaning supplies for department/unit useProperly clean and store all equipment and supplies after each shiftUtilize appropriate PPEPrepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functionsFollow all infection control measures. Travel between Housing Matters sites - Behavioral Health Bridge Housing (BHBH) site and the Live Oak Landing (the “Landing”) using a Housing Matters owned vehicle.Other duties assigned.
