What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Choice Voucher Assistant Manager position at Housing Authority of the City of Danbury?
The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Assistant Manager supports the HCV Manager in the daily administration and operational oversight of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), Rental Assistance Program (RAP), and other contracted voucher programs. Responsibilities include compliance support, staff guidance, quality control, reporting, financial monitoring, and coordination with internal departments, landlords, and community partners. The HCV Assistant Manager serves as Acting HCV Manager in the Manager’s absence.
· Supports the HCV Manager in maintaining the day‐to‐day flow of program operations, ensuring that staff activities, participant services, and landlord engagement remain aligned with Agency policies, regulatory timelines, and program objectives.
· Promotes consistent application of HUD, DOH, federal, state, and Agency requirements by reinforcing policy expectations, assisting with interpretation of regulatory guidance, and helping staff apply program rules accurately.
· Contributes to the Agency’s compliance posture by participating in quality reviews, observing operational trends, identifying areas requiring clarification, and supporting corrective or improvement efforts that help maintain audit readiness and SEMAP performance standards.
· Provides supporting analysis and documentation to help the HCV Manager monitor voucher utilization, budget considerations, and required reporting, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
· Facilitates communication between program staff, landlords, participants, internal departments, and external partners. Help prepare information for internal leadership, auditors, and community stakeholders as directed.
· Reinforces training, procedural updates, and customer service standards established by the HCV Manager, helping staff apply best practices and maintain efficient workflows.
· Provides temporary continuity of leadership within established procedures during short periods when the HCV Manager is unavailable.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
