Overview:
House of Za is seeking a confident, sales-driven Budtender who understands that this role is about more than transactions—it’s about creating an experience, building relationships, and driving revenue. This position is ideal for someone who can engage customers, recommend products with confidence, and actively contribute to marketing and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and verify customers (21 ) in compliance with New York State regulations Deliver exceptional customer service in a professional, welcoming environment Educate customers on cannabis products including flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates, and accessories Actively upsell and recommend products based on customer needs and preferences Increase average order value through product pairing and add-on suggestions Maintain accurate transactions using POS systems (Blaze) and ensure proper cash handling Assist with inventory intake, restocking, and organization in compliance with METRC requirements Ensure all products are stored and displayed according to OCM regulations Maintain a clean, organized, and secure sales floor
Sales & Marketing Expectations:
- Meet or exceed daily and weekly sales goals Promote featured products, deals, and new arrivals Encourage repeat business by building strong customer relationships Participate in in-store promotions, vendor pop-ups, and brand activations Assist with social media content (photos, videos, product highlights) when needed Represent the House of Za brand with a polished, energetic presence
Qualifications:
- Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to confidently recommend and sell products Interest in cannabis and willingness to learn product knowledge quickly Comfortable in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Must be 21 and able to pass any required background checks. Must be 21 University area residents and College students strongly encouraged to apply.
Pay: $18.75 - $20.00 per hour
