What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Sales Operations Manager position at House-Hasson Hardware Company?
Job Summary
The Senior Sales Operations Manager is at the center of House-Hasson Hardware's sales organization, turning strategy into scalable process, data into decisions, and cross-functional coordination into results. This high-visibility role partners with Sales Leadership, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service to improve customer experience and sales productivity — regularly leading initiatives across teams that don't report to this position. You'll bring structure to complex sales processes, turn data into actionable insight, build the tools and reporting that help the field sell more effectively, and drive initiatives from planning through execution. With exposure to sales process improvement, CRM strategy, analytics and reporting, forecasting, territory planning, and cross-functional project leadership, this is an opportunity to shape how House-Hasson's sales organization operates as it grows into new markets and a new industrial business division.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Own the big picture. Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement scalable sales processes that support company growth, maintaining a clear view of what's working across the sales cycle.
- Fix what's broken. Evaluate the end-to-end sales cycle to identify inefficiencies, diagnose root causes, redesign processes, drive adoption, and measure the results.
- Keep the field informed. Ensure the field sales team receives timely, accurate, and actionable information, and develop tools, templates, and resources that help them sell more effectively.
- Be the connection point. Lead cross-functional initiatives with Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Service — setting milestones, assigning owners, holding deadlines, and escalating appropriately to keep teams outside your direct authority accountable.
- Turn information into insight. Build and maintain dashboards and reports measuring key sales KPIs — revenue, margin, growth, customer penetration, forecast accuracy, pipeline, retention, and productivity — and prepare executive-level reporting on pipeline health and performance.
- Make the CRM work for the team. Drive CRM adoption, data quality, and reporting discipline, using it as a sales-management and productivity tool rather than just a system of record.
- Coordinate what's next. Lead seasonal promotions, dealer programs, virtual markets, vendor campaigns, and other sales initiatives from planning through execution, including forecasting, readiness, field communication, and post-initiative analysis.
- Help the business run smarter. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, and support annual sales planning, budgeting, forecasting, and territory optimization.
- Build understanding of the business. Develop a comprehensive understanding of House-Hasson's customer base, store formats, market segments, and growth opportunities to support strategic account development and customer acquisition.
- Start with listening. In your first 90 days, prioritize listening, data and process mapping, and establishing performance baselines before proposing major changes.
- Grow the sales organization's capability. Support onboarding and ongoing training for sales representatives on systems, processes, and best practices, and participate in strategic projects tied to new business initiatives and organizational growth.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, forecasting/modeling with large datasets), with the ability to organize, analyze, and present information effectively.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems and sales technologies, with a track record of improving CRM adoption and data quality.
- Naturally takes ownership. You see what needs to happen, take initiative, and drive projects and processes through to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and build strong cross-functional relationships across departments.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including managing initiatives from planning through execution.
- Strong communicator and collaborator, able to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations for leadership and the field.
- Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
- Willingness to travel periodically to warehouse locations, customer sites, or industry events.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales Operations, Business Operations, Commercial Operations, Business Analytics, or a related field, supporting a field-based sales organization.
- Experience supporting field sales organizations in distribution, manufacturing, industrial products, wholesale, or B2B environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects, from diagnosing root causes through measurable results.
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience developing dashboards, KPI reporting, forecasting models, or territory/planning tools for a sales organization.
- Experience coordinating seasonal promotions, dealer programs, vendor campaigns, or other sales initiatives from planning through execution.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field required.
- MBA or advanced business education a plus.
