We are currently seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team on a PRN basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced cosmetic surgery team in a professional, patient-centered environment.
Position Summary
The PRN LVN is responsible for providing exceptional nursing care throughout the patient's surgical experience, including pre-operative preparation, assisting with patient care in the operating room, and post-anesthesia recovery support. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent clinical skills, professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments.
- Prepare patients for anesthesia and surgery.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and nursing assessments in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Administer medications and treatments safely under physician direction and within the LVN scope of practice.
- Assist the surgical team during cosmetic procedures.
- Provide patient care and monitoring in the Operating Room and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) under the supervision of the RN and anesthesia provider.
- Monitor patients during the recovery process and promptly report any changes in condition.
- Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Follow infection prevention guidelines, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, RNs, surgical technologists, and administrative staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- ACLS certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, Operating Room (OR), or PACU is preferred.
- Strong IV therapy and venipuncture skills preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

- Flexible availability to work PRN based on the surgery schedule.
