Required to work share of weekends and holidays. The duties of a phlebotomist may include properly identifying the patent, interpreting the tests requested on the requisition, drawing blood into the correct tubes with the proper additives, accurately explaining the procedures to the patients and instructing patients on post-puncture care, preparing the patients accordingly, affixing tubes with electronically printed labels and delivering specimens to a laboratory. Possess knowledge and demonstrate competency in all applicable company, federal and state safety guidelines.
