Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing trucks to ensure they are in safe and working condition. This is a full-time position with competitive hourly pay. Starting pay based on experience.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, including engine, transmissions, air brake systems, suspensions, and tires.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn-out parts, such as lights, brakes, axles, and couplings.
- Conduct inspections to ensure trucks meet safety standards and regulations.
- Fabricate or modify truck components as needed.
- Perform tire changes and rotations.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on maintenance software.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of truck systems, including air brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with farm machinery is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a mode of transportation to get to work.
- Ability to operate a forklift is preferred.
