Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with genuine hospitality and create an inviting atmosphere.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and service standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and featured promotions.
- Make recommendations and engage guests to enhance their overall dining experience.
- Process beverage and food orders accurately using the Point-of-Sale system.
- Ensure guests receive prompt, friendly, and attentive service throughout their visit.
- Verify guest identification and comply with all Michigan liquor laws and responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and professionally refuse service when appropriate.
- Work closely with servers, cooks, and managers to ensure smooth, efficient service during busy meal periods.
- Prepare garnishes, stock beer, liquor, wine, mixers, glassware, and supplies before each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar throughout the shift.
- Perform opening, closing, cleaning, and cash-handling procedures accurately.
- Assist with inventory counts and communicate product shortages to management.
- Promote Resort amenities, events, entertainment, golf, dining specials, and upcoming activities whenever appropriate.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while supporting fellow associates throughout the operation.
- Assist with special events, banquets, tournaments, weddings, and Resort functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, resort, or bar preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and classic cocktails.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional during busy service periods.
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale systems preferred.
- Current ServSafe Alcohol Certification preferred (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reach, bend, stoop, and carry supplies throughout the shift.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
