Summary:
Accommodates guests of hotel or motel by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. Issues room key and gives directions.
· Sorts incoming mail and faxes for guests
· Transmits and receives telephone messages
· Answers inquiries about hotel services, guest registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
· Keeps records of room availability and guests’ accounts
· Computes bills, collects payments, and makes change for guests
· Makes, confirms, and cancels reservations
· Posts charges include laundry, faxes, and copies to the guest room.
· Assists guests with safe deposit boxes.
· Uses suggestive selling skills and company sales programs to maximize revenue and occupancy.
· Reports all customer requests in Opportunity Log; reports all service complaints in Service Log; performs courtesy calls and logs them in Courtesy Call Log.
· Handles accounting of money, receipts, guest accounts, and credit through operation of the FD computer system and completion of reports required to ensure company funds are secure.
· Proper uniform and nametag will be worn at all times
· Uses guest's names a minimum of three times during check-in and check-out.
· Ensure that incoming calls to the switchboard are answered within three rings.
· Must be knowledgeable of all in-house services and be able to assist customers when questioned.
· Bucket checks must be performed a minimum of one time per shift.
· Must respond to a guest request within 15 minutes of the time the request was made.
· Respond to customers immediately upon entering the lobby.
· Room directions along with hotel outlets along with hours of operation must be explained to all customers.
· Outgoing fax messages must be sent within two minutes from the time requested.
· When approached by a customer with a problem, the associate will empower himself/herself to assist the customer in solving the problem.
· Telephone messages must be communicated to the customer within one minute of receiving a call
Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry fundamentals, and trigonometry. Applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
