ROLE SUMMARY: The Retail Store Manager (Pre-Opening) is responsible for leading the development, launch, and ongoing operation of the hotel’s retail outlet. This role owns merchandising strategy, financial performance, and team leadership, while delivering a luxury guest experience aligned with Hotel Drover’s brand standards.
PRE-OPENING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead all aspects of store setup including merchandising, inventory procurement, and operational readiness.

Lead, coach, and develop retail team members to deliver exceptional guest service and achieve sales goals.

Drive revenue through strategic merchandising, product assortment, pricing, and promotional initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Oversee daily retail store operations, ensuring seamless execution of all opening, closing, and operational procedures.

Lead, coach, and develop retail team members to deliver exceptional guest service and achieve sales goals.

Drive revenue through strategic merchandising, product assortment, pricing, and promotional initiatives.

Ownership of KPI Targets (e.g., sales, average transaction value, items per transaction).

Manage inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, stock levels, and monthly/quarterly physical inventories.

Maintain visual merchandising standards, ensuring the store reflects brand identity and luxury presentation expectations.

Develop and execute retail promotions, events, and partnerships to enhance guest engagement and increase sales.

Collaborate with hotel leadership to align retail offerings with property programming, events, and guest demographics.

Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures, loss prevention policies, and company standards.

Full P&L Ownership, accountability for revenue growth and profitability.

Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly, modeling service excellence.

Foster a positive, collaborative team environment built on trust, accountability, and performance.

Ensure all retail records, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and timely.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods throughout the shift.

Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs regularly.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position supervises retail team members, including Supervisors and Sales Team Members.

Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.

Ensures team adherence to service standards, operational procedures, and company policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3 – 5 years of retail experience with leadership responsibility.

Strong understanding of retail operations, sales drivers, and merchandising principles.

Proven ability to analyze financial and operational data to drive decision-making.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.

Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team development skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
