ROLE SUMMARY: The Group Sales Manager is responsible for representing Hotel Drover to customers, community partners, and external stakeholders while driving group sales revenue within assigned market segments. This role develops and maintains strong client relationships, identifies new business opportunities, prepares tailored proposals, negotiates contracts, and partners closely with hotel leadership to exceed sales and revenue goals while delivering Legendary Service every day.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Professionally approach and communicate with current and prospective customers.
- Maintain strong knowledge of market trends, hotel positioning, amenities, and brand standards.
- Understand booking patterns, demand periods, and local market events to maximize sales opportunities.
- Research customer business needs and develop customized proposals aligned with event objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and outreach to event planners.
- Conduct site visits and present creative, tailored proposals to prospective clients.
- Negotiate contract terms and resolve client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships to drive repeat and referral business.
- Sell and upsell hotel services to meet and exceed sales and financial goals.
- Ensure proper communication and coordination with operations teams for successful event execution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, reports, and client communications.
- Complete all required sales reporting and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Participate in trade associations, networking events, and community outreach opportunities.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the property for extended periods.
- Ability to conduct property tours and site visits across indoor and outdoor spaces.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 15–25 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to travel locally for client meetings, networking events, and trade functions.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Knowledge of the Fort Worth market and DFW area preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous luxury hotel or lifestyle hospitality sales experience.
- Experience in group, catering, or event sales.
- Familiarity with Marriott systems and brand standards.
- Established network within the Fort Worth / DFW hospitality and events market.
- Experience with CRM and sales reporting systems.
