Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic person to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to work and learn grounds maintenance as well as minor building maintenance. Learning how to maintain grounds using various equipment including mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, and tractors. Key tasks for this role include mowing lawns, trimming edges, planting new garden areas, maintaining irrigation and sprinkler systems, clearing snow from driveways, parking areas, and walkways, ensuring grounds are clean and free of debris, assisting in maintenance of outdoor equipment, minor indoor maintenance as necessary such as minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, etc. This roles main priority is the safety and beauty of the property for guests.
Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, power tools, and tractors to perform mowing, trimming, planting, and landscaping tasks.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across landscaped areas.
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and proper landscape design.
- Maintaining proper health of all plants, trees, lawns.
- Perform tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, and removal to ensure safety and aesthetic appeal.
- Execute hardscape projects including installing pathways, retaining walls, or other landscape features with precision.
- Follow safety procedures rigorously during all outdoor activities to prevent accidents and injuries.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating groundskeeping and landscaping equipment a plus.
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, and groundskeeping a plus.
- Ability to identify plants, trees, pests, and related horticultural elements confidently.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and construction equipment such as tractors in a safe and responsible manor.
- Experience with lawn care routines including mowing, edging, aeration, and fertilization is a plus.
- Familiarity with snow plowing techniques for winter maintenance when applicable.
- Outdoor work experience demonstrating physical endurance and attention to detail in all weather conditions.
