Diesel Bus Mechanic Position Overview:
As a Diesel Bus Mechanic Technician II, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet, ensuring that our vehicles are always safe, reliable, and ready for passenger transport. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on our diverse fleet of motorcoaches, school buses, shuttles, transits, sprinters, and automobiles.
Diesel Bus Mechanic Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, automotive gas engines, powertrains, HVAC, electrical, steering, cooling, and brake systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in a safe and efficient work environment.
- Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) inspections, ensuring compliance with DVIR safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and vehicle inspections.
- Work collaboratively with the team to quickly resolve mechanical issues.
Diesel Bus Mechanic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working on diesel trucks, buses, or other commercial vehicles.
- Must provide your own tools and toolbox.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of heavy-duty diesel engines and gas automotive engines.
- A technical degree in diesel or industrial technology is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Diesel Bus Mechanic Schedule:
Monday to Friday, Weekend shifts as required.
Diesel Bus Mechanic Pay:
The hourly wage ranges from $26 to $35/per hour, based on experience.
