FUNCTION
The Marketing Coordinator supports the marketing efforts of Hospice of the Upstate by working in collaboration with area case management, physician offices and other referral staff in the Hospice of the Upstate service area. The expectation for this position is
that the Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the promotion of a positive image of Hospice of the Upstate and awareness of the programs and services offered.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Reports to the Senior Director of Marketing. The position will work with limited supervision and must use discretion and judgment. The Marketing Liaison must be entrepreneurial in spirit and self-motivated. They also need to be a proven team player and able to work in fast paced environment. The person in this role must possess the ability to perform successfully in highly visible position.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

- Builds and expands relationships with new referral sources.
- Broadens the number of referral sources within the Hospice of the Upstate geographical coverage area
- Calls on existing and potential referral sources to provide educational information and materials as well as agency updates. This includes physician offices, hospitals, nursing facilities and Assisted Living Facilities
- Establishes and maintains relationships with internal admissions personnel to achieve efficient admissions processing
- Problem solves for referral sources
- Provides visit reports, type of call, person seen and referral/resolution reports weekly
- Collaborates with Senior Manager of Development on the creation of various marketing tools including brochures, flyers, exhibit displays and advertising
· “Networks” in the community by participating in membership in-service, professional and community leadership organizations.
· Plans and conducts awareness events either alone or with the marketing and admissions team
· Remains compliant on HOU annual compliance and safety requirements
· Provides coordination on public awareness with admissions/ marketing team.
· Performs periodic market analysis, identifies , identifies new targets, shares findings with HOU leadership.
· Represents the organization with credibility, dignity and in the spirit of excellence and trust
· Works with HOU Leadership toward larger marketing and branding goals of agency
· Works with HOU Leadership in developing annual calendar of marketing initiatives for Hospice of the Upstate
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelors level degree from an accredited college with two years of related experience or Associate level degree from an accredited institution with 4 years of related experience
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Knowledge of the health care industry.
Leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to perform in a self-directed manner. A self-starter.
Must have ability to interact effectively, both internally and externally the
Hospice of the Upstate organization, with people who are diverse in skills,
cultures, authority levels, interests, backgrounds, and economic status, to
get tasks accomplished.
Must be a team player.
Creativity and the ability to operate in an unstructured environment are
highly desirable.
Knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Publisher.
