Hospice of Southern Maine is seeking a part time House Assistant to work at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
- This position is 12 hours per week (1 shift 7:30am-8:00pm).
- Works every third weekend and Wednesdays on the weeks not scheduled to work a weekend day
The House Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative/clerical duties in a prompt and professional manner. This position supports efficient workflow and communications in the operation of the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House (GMHH), while playing a liaison role with patients, families and the staff at GMHH.
- Provides administrative support (correspondence, filing, and organizing materials) to the House Director, Medical Director, and others as needed.
- Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure compliance with tasks as directed.
- Assists with staff scheduling and ensures timely distribution of all schedule updates.
- Assists with scheduling, preparing and taking minutes for meetings.
- Assists with compiling data and reports, (i.e., Goold assessments), utilizing an electronic medical record as needed.
- Coordinates and manages assembly of admission and information packets, ensuring adequate supply.
- Assists with internal and external regulatory deadlines as directed.
- Coordinates with HSM’s volunteer program for volunteer administrative support; providing direction and guidance as needed that pertains to administrative tasks.
- Provides the first impression to the community, families, patients and the organization as it relates to GMHH.
- Provides phone and front desk coverage.
High School Diploma or GED; college experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year administrative/office experience, preferably in a healthcare environment required. Experience with medical records and/or regulatory compliance preferred.
