Brief Description
Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. (HOSC) is seeking a Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care Team. This is a field position providing direct spiritual care to patients and their families located within Sullivan County and adjacent areas of Orange County. The role also requires availability to share weekend coverage on a rotating basis.
The Chaplain is an integral member of the interdisciplinary hospice care team providing compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients and their loved ones. Through comprehensive spiritual assessments and individualized care planning, the Chaplain helps patients and their loved ones find peace, meaning, and comfort in accordance with their spiritual or religious beliefs and goals.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (B.D., M.Div. or equivalent) and/or experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
- Comfortability in an interfaith setting.
- Hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
- Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education and working towards professional certification preferred.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Electronic Medica Records (EMR) Systems.
- A clean, acceptable driving record with reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
- Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
