Job Summary:
The Clinical Informatics Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing clinical workflows and ensuring that health information technology (HIT) systems meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients. This position is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical information systems, ensuring data integrity, improving system efficiency, and enhancing user experiences to improve patient care outcomes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise junior staff, including Clinical Informatics Assistants or other support roles as assigned.
Responsible for providing guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
Collaborates with department leads to ensure clinical informatics support aligns with organizational goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Work closely with healthcare providers to analyze clinical workflows and recommend HIT solutions to optimize efficiency.
Implement and configure Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other clinical systems to support clinical and administrative needs.
Provide training and ongoing support for healthcare providers and staff on clinical information systems.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for process improvements.
Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to troubleshoot issues related to clinical systems, ensuring timely resolutions.
Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA and other data privacy laws.
Develop and maintain documentation related to clinical systems, including workflows, policies, and user guides.
Participate in the evaluation and testing of new clinical informatics technologies and systems.
Assist in system upgrades, patches, and modifications, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of clinical systems with other HIT platforms.
Ensure clinical data quality and accuracy, participating in data governance initiatives.
Act as a liaison between clinical staff, IT, and administration to ensure optimal system use.
Education, Certifications, and Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Nursing, Information Technology, or relevant experience preferred.
Master’s degree in Health Informatics or a related field preferred.
Certification in Clinical Informatics (e.g., CPHIMS, RHIA, or similar) is highly preferred.
Active RN license (if applicable) or clinical background is a plus.
Experience:
3 years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or a related field.
Experience working with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar) is required.
Proven experience in optimizing clinical workflows and system implementation.
Experience in healthcare data analytics and reporting is preferred.
Knowledge of regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.) is required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
Excellent technical skills with EHR and HIT systems.
Proficiency in healthcare data management and reporting tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical and technical teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and compliance standards.

Salary : $70,000 - $110,000
