Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, preparing financial reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various departments.
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and financial reports.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Coordinate audits, prepare supporting documentation, and address audit inquiries.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures for efficiency.
Provide guidance to junior accountants and finance team members.
Prepare financial reports for senior management, identifying key insights and trends.
Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for financial management.
Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a desk and using a computer.
Occasional lifting of files, reports, and office equipment up to 15 lbs.
Manual dexterity for keyboard use and handling office equipment.
