As a Dietary Aide, you will play an important role in supporting our dietary team and ensuring meals are prepared, served, and delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation, plating, serving, and delivery to residents.
- Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen areas.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Prepare and distribute beverages, snacks, and other food items as directed.
- Assist with stocking and organizing food, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
- Follow residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and meal instructions.
- Communicate resident concerns or meal-related issues to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Work cooperatively with the dietary and nursing teams to provide excellent service to residents.
- Previous dietary, food service, restaurant, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well with residents, families, and team members.
- Friendly, patient, and respectful approach to working with seniors.
- Ability to follow directions and established food safety procedures.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull food service supplies and equipment as needed.
- Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ability to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
