You will conduct research and lead positioning activities for a wide range of business opportunities. Working collaboratively with our business leaders, you will provide insight and knowledge throughout the identification and support of complex service lines and devise a strategy for searching out promising new opportunities and turning those opportunities into new business. The area of emphasis is on environment & planning, energy and climate & resilience related opportunities.
This is an in-office position in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Remote-based position may be considered within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Research regulatory requirements related to energy and climate industries.
- Monitor federal, state and/or local regulations and guidance and recommend opportunities to support clients in achieving compliance with climate and energy policies and practices.
- Research grant and funding requirements for international, federal, state, and local funding opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of competitive market offerings and new technologies.
- Conduct research, analyze information and data, and synthesize research findings into high quality work products, including informative summaries, fact sheets, presentations, and reports. Distill and translate complex information into clear, compelling materials for diverse audiences.
- Perform market research on new business opportunities, including analysis of customer budget, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
- Read, understand, interpret and apply appropriate terminology, legal requirements and regulations pertinent to energy/resource, climate and conservation programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two or more years of experience in research, writing, policy or a related field.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a working knowledge of or desire to learn the Energy and Environmental industry to include renewable energy, microgrids, smart buildings, environmental compliance, and analysis.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Flexible and highly organized to work and track multiple assignments.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with great attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience in the environment & planning or climate & resilience space related to the water and/or energy sectors.
- Juris Doctor
- Bilingual English/Spanish
