What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biller/Insurance Clerk position at Horn Memorial Hospital?
Hiring a full time Biller/Insurance Clerk. Position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Position is fully onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes mixture of billing for workers compensation, auto/liability, VA and other miscellaneous insurances.
- Responsible for the timely preparation and transmission of hospital insurance claims and other insurance duties.
- Prepares and transmits all claims electronically.
- Researches denied claims and files appeals or corrected claims for payment.
- Researches aged claims that are unpaid to get payment resolution.
- Answers patient’s questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Degree/certificate in insurance billing or experience in health insurance billing preferred.
Experience:
- Experience: Must have good computer and communication skills. Insurance billing experience preferred. Must be friendly and service orientated.
Job knowledge:
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel and Word helpful. Should be familiar with Medicare and health insurance benefits and be able to answer questions for the patients and general public.
