RESPONSIBILITIES 

• This is a Walmart Category Management position which is responsible for working directly with the Walmart buying team on the categories we support. This position leads in category strategy development, advanced analytics that align with the customer business goals and growth expectations. This position executes space planning for the categories in which we compete. 
• This position is responsible for analyzing business issues, providing business insights and recommendations in the areas of modular strategies, assortment, shelving, pricing, and merchandising to drive business results for Walmart.  
• Provides periodic and ad-hoc reporting based on issues discovered in the regular reporting that digs deep into markets and products issues with solid recommendations. Monthly delivery of actionable (actionable=answer the so what action) tracking reports to include but not limited to:
  • assortment optimization
  • new items and their volume transfer
  • market share
  • shelving, aisle tests & new strategies
  • pricing and promotions
  • ROM and key competitor performance. 
• Responsible for competitive and marketplace intelligence, analysis, and reporting. This would include share gap reporting, price gap reporting, and market visits that determine competitive retailer strategies and tactics. Responsible to develop and utilize category management insights, to generate business development strategies and tactics, and help drive Hormel’s overall brand development. Responsible for helping develop strategies that will further penetrate the customer's organization.
• Responsible for space planning, drawing of the modulars for Walmart, which is completed annually. This position will work across multiple categories, executing modular design and updates that support category strategies. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
• 1 years of Sales/Marketing/Sales Strategy experience.
• Pattern of initiative.
• Strong skills using technical tools, such as Excel, Circana, Panel, Customer POS, Space Planning (JDA) etc. 
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
• Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. 
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills.

Preferred

• 3 years of Sales/Marketing/Sales Strategy experience. 
• Walmart Category Management Experience, specializing in Luminate. 
• Space planning experience. 

LOCATION: Bentonville Sales Office, Bentonville AR   

A comprehensive relocation package to the Bentonville, AR area may be offered, if required. 

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Category (Senior) Development Analyst role is between $71,075 – $115,925 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
