What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief of Staff position at Horizontal Talent?
We are seeking a highly organized, strategic operator to support executive leadership within our client’s lending business. This role functions as a Chief of Staff, partnering closely with the President of the Bank and the GM of Lending Products.
This is not a traditional project management role. Instead of owning timelines, scope, and delivery, this position focuses on driving executive priorities forward through strong communication, planning, and execution support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, supporting day-to-day priorities and long-term initiatives
- Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and materials for internal and external audiences
- Support financial planning efforts, including both ongoing forecasting and annual planning cycles
- Synthesize complex information into clear, concise insights for leadership decision-making
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on key initiatives and priorities
- Assist in tracking and advancing high-priority actions driven by executive leadership
- Act as a central point of coordination for leadership communications and deliverables
Qualifications
- Experience supporting senior executives in a Chief of Staff, strategy, consulting, or similar role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear messaging
- High level of professionalism and comfort working with executive stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with financial planning, reporting, or business operations is preferred
- Background in banking, lending, or financial services is a plus
