Job Overview
This is an overnight position, working hours would be 10:30 PM- 8:30 AM.
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities .Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support to clients in an Intermediate Care Facility. You will assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and support to individuals with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patients for changes in condition or behavior.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client’s needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Engage clients in social activities and promote community involvement to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring proper hygiene practices.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, including the use of equipment such as Hoyer lifts for mobility support.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
- Document client progress and report any concerns to supervisors or healthcare providers.
Qualifications
