Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with enthusiasm and accuracy
- Manage retail sales transactions efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring correct cash handling and receipt processing
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and addressing special requests or dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle food handling responsibilities responsibly, including food safety protocols and basic food preparation when necessary
- Manage cash register operations, perform retail math accurately, and balance cash drawers at shift end
- Support food service tasks such as serving snacks or light meals, maintaining proper food handling procedures
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and café operations
- Strong cashiering skills with experience in retail sales transactions and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Effective time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Basic math proficiency for cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures in a café or food industry setting
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
