Job Description Who We Are Horizon Sports and Experiences (HS&E) was created to provide a differentiated and comprehensive approach for clients engaging in sports and experiential marketing. What You’ll Do The Vice President will be responsible for the growth and performance of consumer events and B2B hospitality programs on behalf of brand clients, leading teams to deliver flawless experiences and proactively solve client business needs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering exceptional hospitality and consumer experiences, with proven performance in relationship management, team development, white glove service, event production and project planning. The position will report directly into the Senior Vice President and will contribute significantly to optimizing agency operations and output. 40% - Client Management & Strategic Leadership Play an integral role in onboarding new client(s) ensuring subject matter expertise, proactive client service and organization are clearly articulated through day-to-day work at the onset of each relationship Spearhead the development and clarification of client event strategies and objectives, working closely with clients to shape and scale experiential marketing campaigns and corporate hospitality programs Introduce smart event solutions to deliver on client goals and evaluate current health of client business via analysis of relevant business metrics (ROI/ROO) Own and advance senior-level relationships with clients serving as a trusted counselor to c-suite and senior leaders Ensure client events are being managed to high standard and client expectations are consistently exceeded Maintain awareness of all client requests to proactively address project prioritization and staff allocation, revising strategies when needed Monitor marketplace, identify new pursuits, and proactively present suggestions to clients regarding competitor tactics and whitespace opportunities 30% - Business Operations & Staff Development Oversee event operations for team, ensuring team is working efficiently, communicating effectively and organizational structure is productive Contribute to and maintain positive working relationships and processes across the agency inclusive of Events team and inter-agency teams including Creative, Strategy, Account and Sales Collaborate on the creation of annual business plans and oversee its implementation Manage the professional development of each direct report Set career development goals, track performance, and hold team members accountable Work with team members to improve skill sets and remove barriers to effectiveness Provide constructive performance feedback in real time Identify training needs for improved performance Oversee hiring and onboarding for new team members 15% - Account and Project Management Work with the direct team to develop planning deadlines that anticipate client needs and establish accurate lead times for events and measurement Maintain visibility of client deliverables and delegation to confirm plans are operating ahead of schedule and within budget Proactively address areas of optimization by reinforcing processes to standardize thoughtful ideation, critical forecasting, detailed planning and comprehensive reporting Provide guidance to the team to enhance creative development, vendor selection, logistical and contingency planning, onsite execution, troubleshooting and decision-making Provide topline oversight of the financial projections, execution of all agreements and contracts, and budget reconciliations Regularly revisit security, safety and insurance training to maintain appropriate coverage for events 15% - New Business Development Support new business generation by driving organic growth with clients through flawless event execution, proactive ideation and identification of new needs Work across the broader agency teams to identify new opportunities where experiential and hospitality may deliver new business opportunities Play an integral role in agency new business pitches through active research, thoughtful ideation, cross-team collaboration and delegation Contribute to the evolution of the agency’s services and products Develop clear, polished presentations to sell-in concepts and recommendations Who You Are Extensive experience delivering first-class global experiences and assuming a leadership role for assigned work including setting priorities, effectively delegating and monitoring progress Comfort and confidence presenting work and translating creative ideas into persuasive presentations Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop clear, timely and compelling POVs Team-spirited, solutions-oriented and collaborative to achieve business objectives Outstanding organizational skills and critical attention to detail Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment An advocate for and supporter of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Preferred Skills & Experience Bachelor of Arts or Science (minimum) Minimum of 12 years of event management experience at an agency, team, league or brand with a proven performance record Advanced understanding of corporate hospitality programs, event production and operations Ability to convert comprehensive client-facing information into actionable strategies Experience training, teaching and coaching staff of no less than four (4) team members Experience working across organization and interfacing with a variety of stakeholders High level of proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Ability to work nights, weekends or travel for events Certificates, Licenses and Registrations No requirements for certificates, licenses and/or registrations Physical Activity and Work Environment Occasionally the employee might be asked to perform minimal physical activity in support of onsite event execution #HSE #LI-TH1 #LI-HYBRID The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified. Salary Range $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 A successful applicant’s actual base salary may vary based on factors such as individual’s skill sets, experience, training, education, licensure/certifications, and qualifications for the role.
