Job Summary:
As the head of Finance in a surgical robotic start-up, you will play a critical role in managing and leading the financial operations of the company. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with other executive team members to drive financial strategy and decision-making, and provide financial insights and recommendations to support the company's growth objectives. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the financial direction of the organization and ensuring its financial health and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Collaborate with the CEO and other executives to drive financial initiatives that support growth, profitability, and long-term success.
2- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to the executive team and Board of Directors to support strategic decision-making.
3- Cash Flow Management: Manage the company's cash flow and working capital, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing cash flows. Develop strategies to maximize cash utilization, manage risks, and ensure adequate funding for operations and growth.
4- Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, tax planning and compliance, payroll, and financial systems. Ensure financial processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with best practices and industry standards.
5- Fundraising and Investor Relations: Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing, and manage relationships with investors and financial institutions. Provide regular updates and financial information to investors and other stakeholders.
6- Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's assets. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
7- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work culture that values diversity and promotes continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in finance leadership roles, preferably in the medical device, robotics, or healthcare industry, with a track record of driving financial performance and supporting business growth.
- Strong financial acumen, including expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial risk management.
- Experience in fundraising, investor relations, and dealing with financial institutions.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
