Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and hygiene
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems
- Support medication administration following proper protocols and aseptic techniques
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or behavioral health needs
- Operate medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices
- Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments
- Support patients during procedures requiring sterile technique or infection control measures
- Engage in patient education related to health management and safety practices
- Assist with transfers and mobility using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
Skills
- Proven experience in medical-surgical, long-term care, geriatrics, or acute care settings
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with special populations including pediatrics, behavioral health patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately and safely
- Skilled in patient care techniques such as catheter care, aseptic procedures, and infection control practices
- Compassionate caregiver with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards
- Flexibility to work various shifts including days or evenings as required by the healthcare facility
