Schools in Freehold, NJ, are seeking multiple qualified Substitute Paraprofessionals to support students and teachers throughout the 2026–2027 school year, starting ASAP! Substitute paraprofessionals play an important role in maintaining a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment while providing assistance to students and teachers as needed.

Working under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, substitute paraprofessionals may assist with classroom management, instructional support, lesson preparation, and daily classroom activities. Assignments may also include providing one-to-one support to students with special needs, assisting with individualized learning goals, and helping ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.

The Schedule

• Monday through Friday – NO WEEKENDS!
• Hours may vary based on school and classroom needs. – NO EVENINGS OR NIGHTS!

What You’ll Do

• Instructional Support: Assist teachers with implementing lessons, providing one-to-one or small-group support, and adapting materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Classroom Management: Help maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment by monitoring student behavior and providing guidance.
• Special Education Support: Work with students with varying disabilities and provide assistance in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and teacher direction.
• Student Assistance: Help students complete assignments, understand instructions, develop skills, and participate in classroom activities.
• Classroom Preparation: Assist with preparing materials, organizing supplies, setting up or breaking down classroom activities, and completing basic administrative tasks.
• Daily Living Assistance: Support students with daily living activities as needed, which may include toileting, changing, transitioning between classrooms, and navigating hallways.
• Flexible Classroom Coverage: Step in to support classroom staff and help maintain consistency in students’ daily routines.

What’s Required

• High School Diploma or GED required.
