Position Overview
Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a qualified and compassionate School Psychologist to provide Tier 3 mental health services to middle school students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This position is an anticipated 51⁄2-month maternity leave replacement.
The clinician will provide intensive, school-based mental health support to adolescents with significant social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. The ideal candidate is experienced in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional and behavioral interventions, and can collaborate effectively with families, teachers, case managers, and school administrators.
Please note: This position does not include Child Study Team (CST) case management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive Tier 3 mental health services to middle school students with IEPs.
- Deliver individual and group counseling to address students’ social-emotional and mental health needs.
- Implement social-emotional and behavioral interventions to support student well-being and school success.
- Provide crisis intervention and support students experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, case managers, administrators, and other school professionals to develop and implement appropriate student supports.
- Monitor student progress and document counseling services, interventions, and outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and coordinate services to ensure consistent student support.
- Help foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
Qualifications
- New Jersey School Psychologist Certification required
- Experience working with schools, youth services, or social service agencies preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
